Of equal importance is the demonstration of your support for the mission of teddy bear hugs U.

Our Mission Statement remains:
Enhancing the Patient experience at the University of Minnesota Mason’s Children’s Hospital and the University of Minnesota Medical Center, by providing a higher level of comfort to patients who at times feel so far away from home and are faced with the uncertainty of their health and well-being.

teddy bear hugs U is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation established June 2011 with the sole purpose of raising funds for the purchase of Teddy Bears that are then distributed to the Patients at the University of Minnesota Mason’s Children’s Hospital, and the University of Minnesota Medical Center. All proceeds from the Golf, Raffle, and Silent Auction go directly to our Fund. Since 2011, we have raised over $60,000.00 and distributed over (5,000) Teddy Bears. Please help us meet and exceed our 2023 goal of $20,000.00.

Inspirational Letters from Teddy Bear patients and parents

Hey Tom,
I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for giving my daughter the teddy bear. Her smile lit up the room when I handed it to her. I enjoyed visiting with you, & if I can ever repay the favor, please let me know!

Tom,
My 4-year old son had open heart surgery at the (then) University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital when he was 9 weeks old. In each of the past three months, he’s been having procedures at the U of MN Masonic Children’s Hospital in preparation for his next surgery in early 2017. We were surprised (and delighted) to see your organization handing out teddy bears in November. In fact, he was able to receive one. He got such a kick out of getting a teddy bear. He was having a rough day and the bear lifted his spirits! It’s been a valuable member of our family ever since.

Thank you to you and your organization for the joy you bring to the children who receive a teddy bear from you. I pray for continued success and blessings to you and your organization. Happy New Year!
Regards,
Troy Finnigan
Dear Tom,
“I wanted to wish you and others at Teddy Bear Hugs U Organization Happy Holidays and the best throughout 2017.”
“I also wanted to thank you for your generosity of time and talents in making it possible for patients on both (University of Minnesota) MHealth Campuses to receive plush Teddy Bears this year! It truly does bring smiles to old and young alike.”
“Thank you so much for keeping both Adult and Pediatric Patients being cared for at our Hospitals in your thoughts.”
Truly,
